Oceano Vox featured by Pure Ocean on Radio Classique

The Citizen Into Science project, led by Oceano Vox with the support of the Pure Ocean Fund, was recently highlighted by David Sussman, founder of Pure Ocean, during his appearance on the Bleu comme le monde program on Radio Classique.

On this occasion, David Sussman presented the project’s ambition: to transform boats into genuine scientific sensors capable of collecting essential oceanographic data at sea, such as temperature, salinity, and currents.

Developed by Oceano Vox in collaboration with Ifremer, the Citizen Into Science program contributes to the creation of a digital twin of the ocean, improving understanding of marine dynamics and accelerating scientific research.

This data contributes in particular to:

  • improve weather forecasts at sea,
  • better understand ocean microclimates,
  • optimize shipping routes and reduce their environmental impact,
  • Strengthen large-scale scientific observation through navigators.

This initiative illustrates the collective momentum driven by Oceano Vox and its partners: to make every sailor an active participant in learning about and protecting the ocean.
